ANNOUNCEMENTS Art4Now awards Brooklyn 7th grader Troy Ramadin $1400 Scholarship to attend Interlochen Summer Arts Camp in Michigan
One of the first things you notice in Troy's home are the plants thriving on the windowsill, along with stacks of drawings. Troy's interests are quite clear: While most of the kids in his class worry about reading, writing, math, social studies and science, Troy is focused on his sketchbook and collection of pencils. And his work isn't just made up of cartoons and comic strips. At a thorough view of his sketchbooks you can identify elaborate tales of mythical creatures, all illustrated impeccably.
Troy would thrive in an environment surrounded by other students interested in the arts, so it is apparent to Art4Now that him attending Interlochen Arts Camp in Northern Michigan makes complete sense and would position Troy on a path that he might not have otherwise been able to see as a real possibility.
We are thrilled that Troy is on his way to spend three weeks at Interlochen this summer to study drawing and painting, and thrilled that Troy is the first student to receive an Art4Now Arts Education Scholarship. Stay tuned for updates on Art4Now.org his fall on his summer experience!
